The Mental Health Association in Franklin County, Inc is now offering Common Sense Parenting® classes to the Franklin County community, which was made possible through a grant from Franklin County Department of Social Services. Common Sense Parenting® is a practical, skill based parenting program that teaches parents easy-to-learn techniques and logical strategies to address everyday issues of communication, discipline, decision-making, relationships, and self-control. This program is designed as an approach to assist parents in developing or enhancing their skills to encourage positive behavior, discourage negative behavior, and teach alternatives to problem behavior with their children.
New York State Office of Mental Health has recognized this class as an "evidenced based practice" and useful in helping parents be better parents.
