The Mental Health Association In Franklin Co. is holding a Law Enforcement and Emergency Services Safety Training on June 24, 2010 from 8:30 to 4:30pm at the Tupper Lake Ambulance and Emergency Squad at 49 High St, Tupper Lake

Workshops will include:

Emotional Safety & Survival: Awareness & Prevention in Law Enforcement/Emergency Services.

Emotional Safety and Survival for Law Enforcement/Law Enforcement Families

Safety/ Mental Health Training

The Speakers Will Be:

Eric Weaver; was Commanding Officer of the Rochester Police Department’s Emotionally Disturbed Persons Response Team (EDPRT), Eric was responsible for the deve1opment and coordination of the EDPRT Basic/Advanced School, one of the largest police mental health training schools in the United States. since retiring has consulted with the Troy,NY Police Department and coordinated the development of that department’s EDPRT School and the implementation of the Troy EDPRT, the second and only other specialized team of this kind in NYS. Eric’s continual work with the Troy, NY Police Department earned him the department’s Merit Award. Currently, Eric is working with the Binghamton NY Police Department and is the final stages of implementing its EDPRT School as well. In addition, Eric has been a consultant and trainer for the NYS Department of Criminal Justice Services Crisis Intervention Officer Training schools which has trained hundreds of police officers throughout NYS on the issues of mental health
